A Facebook Group Page is more of an ongoing conversation page where you can be added by friends or you can request to join to become a member. Sometimes these Facebook Group pages are closed, secret, or you can be randomly added to the group and suddenly get a bunch of notification emails when people post.

Groups allow people to come together around a common cause, issue or activity to organize, express objectives, discuss issues, post photos and share related content.”
